Name:Hay Lin
Age:13
Gender:Female
Height:5 ft.
Weight:120 lbs.
Clothing:
Civilian Clothes: Usually, Hay Lin wears funky, and unexpected clothing when not in guardian form. These are of her own design, and usually include a pair of goggles nestled around her forehead acting as a hair band. Hay Lin never wears dark colors, but bright neons and powdery colors that catch the eye.
Guardian Wear: When in her guardian form, Hay Lin's outfit is one of the more comfortable. She has a cool green sleeveless shirt that goes to a few inches above her navel. At her waistline is the beginning of her dress, which is held in place by a black thick cord. The dress slits on each side all the way down, and stopping only inches from the waist, allowing the dress to catch the wind and billow outward. Hay Lin's legs, like all the other guardians, are coddled by leggings of green and blue stripes, leading down to her purple clothe shoes. Hay Lin's hair is held in two pig-tails that are about a few centimeters shy of her height, which is a few feet taller in guardian form, then it is in her civilian form.
Personality:She is always cheerful and full of energy, and very optimistic. She is an extremely creative person who loves to draw, paint, and sketch. It’s no surprise that her favorite subject in school is art. She can be considered a slight comic-alien nerd at heart because of her love to collect comics and alien collectables. She enjoys just about anything related to science fiction, air, or art. She is also not superb at Physical Education, as shown when she herself once says she shall need to get into shape after running. Hay Lin attempts to see the positive in everything and often acts as a peacemaker if other members of the group disagree. She is 13 years old and has a slim, petite figure. She is a very impulsive, feisty girl who is likely to crash in to any situation without thinking of the physical risk. Hay Lin mentioned once while recalling her first encounter with Eric that until she met Eric, she thought boys were just a silly waste of time.
Abilities:Air Guardians have the ability to manipulate air currents. Since sound waves travel through air, the Air Guardian can also hear sounds from a great distance. They can also touch an object and get a complete history of where it has been, recognizing the types of air. The Air Guardian also has a greater power of empathic precognition than the other Guardians. Hay Lin used to get dreams prior to Elyon's coronation in which she was Elyon and was sitting on a throne, the same which Phobos later used to drain Elyon's powers. The Air Guardian also has the power of Invisibility, although in the comics, all the Guardians can become invisible. Hay Lin has power over air. She can create and manipulate the aspects of wind and the air. Hay Lin can levitate objects using her elemental power, and, in the comic book, she is the only member of the group who can fly but can temporarily give others the ability to fly. In the TV show, all the Guardians can fly still, Hay Lin is the one who can fly the highest and quickest among them. In the TV show, Hay Lin has shown an ability to control the temperature of the air, and often uses this power to freeze enemies. Hay Lin can recall people's memories by listening to their favorite music, and also learn the history of an object by the sound it makes. She can also get the history of an object by touching it and closing her eyes. When she does this, she is feeling the atmospheres the object was in and how it was touched. In the TV Show, Hay Lin is the only one who can become invisible and make other things invisible. In the comics, all the girls can become invisible, and Will was actually the first one to find out how. In the TV Show, Hay Lin can hear sounds, noises and voices from great distances, explaining this is because sound vibrations travel through air.
History:Before becoming a Guardian, Hay Lin would work at her family's restaurant and go to school. She would often goof around in her classes and try to turn every project she got into something creative, even if her teachers didn't approve of it. Once, she was assigned the task of making a simple kite for a school project. She decided to make an overly fancy Chinese dragon kite and spent all night working on it. Her teacher failed her before Hay Lin even had a chance to fly it because her teacher assumed it would not fly on its own and that it was far too heavy to even lift off the ground. Luckily for Hay Lin, her connection to the element of Air (even though she didn't know it) was established long before she became a Guardian, and her kite turned out to be the only one in the class that managed to fly.
Action Sample:Hay Lin leaned against her window, a sketch pad on her knees and pencil in hand. The rain outside drummed it's silvery fingers across the pane, pouring harder then it had. As she was placing the nose upon her drawing of a famous singer, the cell phone beside her rang shrilly through the cool silence that filled her room, causing the nose upon her sketch to become a deep gash of led upon her paper. Sighing as Hay Lin's phone vibrated for a second time, the girl tossed her drawing pad onto her messy bed ans flipped her phone open. After giving an occasional yeah, and sure, Hay Lin shut her phone and sighed. "Practice again?! And it's raining outside! Oh well," she said aloud. Telling her Grandma of where she was going, Hay Lin then rushed into her room and shut the door behind her. Looking in the mirror, light radiated from her skin as wind thick enough to see encased her body, when it was gone, there stood the Guardian of Air. And with a quick whirl, Hay Lin was flying through the sky, invisible and wind parting the rain around her body. The Guardian looked up just in time to see the clouds evaporating, obviously the working of Irma.
